There’s been a three-way tussle at the top of the Singles Chart for the past seven days, but when the sales week closed at Midnight last night Jessie J emerged the winner, climbing two places to return to No1 with ‘Price Tag’ (feat. B.o.B).
Adele leaps from No9 to No2 with ‘Someone Like You’ (less than 200 sales behind the No1) and Jedward’s ‘Lipstick’ slips from No2 to No3 (just 17 sales behind No2). With Rihanna steady at No4 with ‘S&M’, Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ dives to No5 after debuting on top last week. There’s only one new entry in this week’s Top 20 – Alexis Jordan at No18 with ‘Good Girl’, her follow-up to ‘Happiness’ which peaked at No31 earlier this year.
Adele’s total domination of the Album Chart continues, as she takes a fifth consecutive week at No1 with ‘21’ – and selling more copies this week than even the launch week. Rihanna & Bruno Mars swap positions, now at No2 and No3 respectively, while Adele’s first album ‘19’ climbs to No4 after three weeks at No6. It’s also a good week for Justin Bieber, whose ‘My Worlds’ climbs from No13 to No5 and ‘Never Say Never – The Remixes’ is the highest new entry at No10. This week’s other star performer is Ellie Goulding, whose ‘Bright Lights’ climbs fifteen places from No21 to No6 following her performance on the Late Late Show.
