J-Lo Flies High

Jennifer Lopez (feat Pitbull) scores her second ever Irish No1 in this weeks Singles Chart as ‘On The Floor’ continues it’s eight week climb up the chart to the top from last week’s No2. It is over six years since she last topped the chart with ‘Get Right’ in 2005.

Adele drops to No2 after her six week reign at No1 with ‘Someone Like You’ while LMFAO’s ‘Party Rock Anthem’ holds steady at No3. Snoop Dogg’s ‘Sweat’ is a non-mover at No4 while Rihanna moves back up four places to No5 with 'S&M'. The Glee Cast provide three of this weeks four new entries in the Top 50  - ‘Loser Like Me’ at No25, ‘Landslide’ at No 36 and ‘Get It Right’ at No38.

After just two weeks away from the top spot Adele moves back up to No1 from last week’s No2 with ‘21’ to give her a tenth week at the top of the Album Chart. Mary Byrne drops a place to No2 with ‘Mine & Yours’ while the Foo Fighters achieve this week’s highest new entry – entering the Chart at No3 with their seventh studio album  ‘Wasting Light’. This is not quite a match for their last three studio releases: 2007’s ‘Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace’ and 2005’s ‘In Your Honour’ both debuted at No2,  while 2002’s ‘One By One’ entered the chart at No1. The Glee Cast also have a new entry as ‘Glee – The Music: Vol 5’ debuts at No5 – a better placing than Vol 4 which entered the Chart at No12. Declan O’Rourke completes the new entries into the Top 10 landing at No7 with his latest release ‘Mag Pai Zai’ – the first on his own independent label – having previously achieved debut positions of No 4 & No 5 with ‘Big Bad Beautiful’ in 2007 and ‘Since Kyabram’ in 2004. Dublin’s The Shoos make this week’s Top 30 with their debut album ‘Rescue Room’ entering the chart at No27.
