FIFA Does the Double

EA’s ‘FIFA 12’ 2nd week sales may have dropped -68% (units) over the impressive launch week, but this is still enough to claim 13th in the all time weekly unit sales ever tracked on the All Formats Chart and it remains comfortably No1.

Debuting strongly at No2 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC is Bethesda’s long-anticipated ‘Rage’ from id Software, the developer that brought ‘Doom’ and ‘Quake’ to the world. Also debuting highly at No3 is Namco Bandai’s 360/PS3 ‘Dark Souls’, the spiritual successor to ‘Demon’s Souls’ (both by From Software but ‘Demon’ was a PS3 exclusive, published in the UK in June 2010). Microsoft drop 2 places to No4 with ‘Gears of War 3’ (-65%) and the next 4 titles (F1 2011, Zumba Fitness, Dead Island, Deus Ex: Human Revolution) all drop 2 places to accommodate the 2 new releases. The exceptions are Disney’s ‘Lego Pirates of the Caribbean’ which remains at No9 (-2%) and Sony’s PS3 ‘Resistance 3’ (+0%) which climbs 3 places to No10. The third and final new release within the Top 40 is 2K Sports/Take 2’s ‘NBA 2K12’ at No12 which debuts a full 7 positions higher than last year’s version.
