2nd week at No1 for The Sims proves its console potential

The All Software (All Formats) Top 40 sees EA’s ‘The Sims’ remaining at No1 for a second week, dominated by the new PS2 version.


Rockstar/Take 2 remain at No2 with PS2 ‘Grand Theft Auto: Vice City’, whilst Sony’s PS2 ‘The Getaway’ remains at No3. Atari/Infogrames take the highest new entry at No4 with PC ‘Unreal II – The Awakening’ and EA remain at No5 with ‘FIFA 2003’. EA drop 2 places to No6 with PC ‘Sim City 4’, Konami rise one place to No7 with PSX ‘Dancing Stage Party Edition’ and EA’s ‘James Bond 007: Nightfire’ drops 2 places to No8. EA’s ‘Lord Of The Rings – The Two Towers’ also drops 2 places to No9, whilst EA drop one place to No10 with ‘Harry Potter – Chamber Of Secrets’. The second highest new entry is also a PC title – EA’s ‘Battlefield 1942 – The Road To Rome’ debuts at No15. The All Software (Budget Price) Top 40 sees Universal/Vivendi’s PS2 ‘Crash Bandicoot – Wrath Of Cortex’ at No1 for a second week, making 8 weeks in total. Disney/Sony’s PSX/PS2/PC ‘Monsters, Inc.’ climbs one place to No2 and EA drop one place to No3 with PSX/PC ‘Harry Potter – Philosopher’s Stone’. Activision’s PSX/PS2/XB/GC ‘Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3’ remains at No4 and Sony’s PS2 ‘Gran Turismo 3’ stays at No5.
