Ubisoft debut at No1 with the much-anticipated ‘Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier’ for 360/PS3 which is the 5th instalment in the Ghost Recon series (excluding expansions) – the series began life as ‘Ghost Recon’on PC back in week 47, 2001.
Future Soldier actually has the best week 1 sales for any in the series, although the Ghost Recon series has been subject to staggered release across formats – for example the previous ‘Ghost Recon Warfighter 2’ debuted on 360 in Mar07, followed by PC in Jul07 and PS3/PSP in Aug07. Rockstar/Take 2’s ‘Max Payne 3’ (-51%) drops to No2 followed at No3 and No4 by yet more new releases. Debuting at No3 is Capcom’s ‘Dragon’s Dogma’ for 360/PS3 and new at No4 is Codemasters’ ‘DIRT Showdown’ also for 360/PS3. It is a good week for new releases, as Nintendo debut at No11 with ‘Mario Tennis Open’ for 3DS and Sony debut at No34 with ‘Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock’ for PS3.
