US singles chart invasion

05/Nov/2004

After several quiet weeks on the Singles Chart, this week's Top 10 is shaken up by no less than 5 new entries - all from big-name US acts. Britney Spears debuts at No1 with her remake of the Bobby Brown classic 'My Prerogative' - her sixth Irish No1 single and her third this year. Just behind Britney at No2 is Eminem's 'Just Lose It' and at No3 Destiny's Child debut with 'Lose My Breath'. Christina Aguilera and Missy Elliott have the fourth new entry at No6 with 'Car Wash' (from Shark Tale) and Usher has the fifth new entry at No7 with double A-side 'Confessions Part II/My Boo'. Flying the flag for Belgium is this week's highest climber Danzel, up from No24 to No8 with 'Pump It Up'.

Robbie Williams 'Greatest Hits' has a third week at No1 on the Album Chart, once again trailed by Luke Kelly's 'Best Of' which has a fourth week at No2. The Kings Of Leon have this week's highest new entry at No3 with 'Aha Shake Heartbreak', their follow up to debut album 'Youth and Young Manhood' which peaked at No18 last summer.
