Activision/Id Software’s ‘Doom 3’ holds on to the No1 spot for a second week despite strong competition from Sony’s resurgent ‘Athens 2004’ (PS2) which climbs the charts again this week, up from No3 to No2, a sales increase of 55% over last week.
Activision’s ‘Spider-Man 2’ loses its grip on the No2 position, falling to No3, while this week’s only new entry, Ubisoft’s online-enabled Xbox exclusive ‘Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow’ debuts at No4. Released last week, Konami’s ‘Yu-Gi-Oh! Reshef of Destruction’ (GBA) enters the Top 40 for the first time at No20, while retailer promotions mean EA’s ‘Medal of Honor: Rising Sun’ jumps up from No24 to No14 and several games re-enter the Top 40 (Midas’ ‘International Cue Club’ is a re-entry at No18, Capcom’s ‘Onimusha 3: Demon Siege’ at No24 and Ubisoft’s ‘XIII’ at No34). Chart-Track will be at EGN (European Games Network) from 1-3 September 2004 (ExCeL – London Docklands). Come and see us at stand 410 (close to the EGN Press Office in The Market Place).
