Jay-Z & Linkin Park still at No. 1

14/Jan/2005

Jay-Z and Linkin Park's 'Numb/Encore' holds at No1 on the Singles Chart for a second week, with a comfortable margin over Gwen Stefani's 'What You Waiting For?' (up from No3 to No2) and Green Day's 'Boulevard Of Broken Dreams' (down from No2 to No3). Elvis Presley claims this week's highest new entry at No15 with 'One Night' - the third in a series of re-releases following 'Jailhouse Rock' and 'All Shook Up' last week.

Green Day make it 2 weeks at the top of the Albums Chart with 'American Idiot', despite a close challenge from The Killers 'Hot Fuss' which leaps from No7 to No2. Paddy Casey's 'Living' - the No2 album of 2004 in Ireland behind U2's 'How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb' - holds at No3, ahead of Eminem's 'Encore' at No4. Once again, there are no new entries in the Top 40.
