‘Star Wars: Battlefront’ (PS2/XB/PC) from Lucasarts/Activision forces EA’s ‘The Sims 2’ down to No2 to claim the coveted No1 spot in the Top 40 Entertainment Software Chart.

EA now occupies the No2, No3 and No4 positions with ‘Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005’ (PS2/XB/PC/GC) and ‘Burnout 3’ (PS2/XB) swapping places. It has been a busy week for publishers in terms of new releases as 8 games enter the Entertainment Software Top 40, half of which make it into the Top 10. Nintendo’s ‘Pokemon Fire Red’ (GBA) debuts at No5, and ‘Pokemon Leaf Green’ (GBA) at No7, separated by Activision’s ‘Rome: Total War’ entering at No6. EA makes it 4 Top 10 games with their new release: the beat 'em up sequel ‘Def Jam Fight for NY’ (PS2/XB/GC) squeezing into the Top 10 at No9. Sega’s long overdue sequel ‘Outrun 2’ (XB) debuts at No21, while Midway’s ‘Psi-ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy’ (XB/PS2) enters at No25 (with the Xbox version outselling the PS2 version with 54% of sales). Ubisoft make up the last two Top 40 new entries, claiming No28 with ‘Rocky Legends’ (PS2/XB) and No33 with their second Square RPG release in 3 weeks: ‘Star Ocean: Till the End of Time’ (PS2).
