Eminem Tops Both Charts - Again

Eminem heads off some stiff competition this week to hold onto his chart crown as 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2' takes a second week at No1 by a comfortable margin on this week's Album Chart.

Lady Gaga is his nearest rival, entering the chart at No2 with her third studio release 'Artpop'. Her first album - 2009's 'The Fame' - entered the chart at No4 and later climbed to the top, while the follow-up 'Born This Way' debuted at No1 in 2011. Celine Dion provides the second of four new entries in the Top 10 as 'Loved Me Back To Life' enters at No3. This is her twenty-fifth studio release in a career spanning over thirty years and is her best performance on this chart since 2002 when 'A New Day Has Come' entered at No1. Kodaline move back into the Top 5 at No4 with the release of an expanded version of 'In A Perfect World' while Christy Moore drops one place to complete the Top 5 at No5. Little Mix claim the third new entry at No7 with their second album 'Salute' - not quite a match for 2012's debut 'DNA' which entered at No3 - while The Killers celebrate ten years together with a greatest hits package 'Direct Hits' which enters at No8.

Eminem also holds on to his position at the top of this week's Singles Chart as 'The Monster' (feat. Rihanna) takes a second week at No1. Hozier's 'Take Me To Church' is also a non-mover at No2 while Martin Garrix re-enters the Chart at No3 with 'Animals'. Originally released in June of this year and reaching No47 back in August, the Dutch DJ's recent signing to a major label has given his latest release a new lease of life. One Direction hold at No4 with 'Story Of My Life' ahead of Lily Allen who takes this week's highest new entry at No5 with her cover of Keane's 'Somewhere Only We Know', as featured in John Lewis' TV campaign. Emerging from temporary retirement, this is her first single for three years. Ed Sheeran climbs into the Top 10, leaping from No22 to No8 with 'I See Fire' from the soundtrack of The Hobbit, two places ahead of Pitbull & Ke$ha who also make the Top 10 this week - up from No11 to No10 with 'Timber'.
