Mercenaries keeps blowing stuff up at No1

Lucasarts holds on to the No1 spot in the Entertainment Software Top 40 with ‘Mercenaries’ (PS2/XB), boosted by a 33% increase in sales across the 2 formats.

Sega’s ‘Sonic Mega Collection Plus’ (PS2/XB) climbs back to No2 from No4 last week, ahead of THQ’s ‘The Spongebob Squarepants Movie’ (PS2/GBA/XB/GC/PC) which holds at No3. There are just 2 new entries in this chart this week: Nintendo’s Gamecube-only ‘Mario Power Tennis’ at No15 (debuting at No1 on the Gamecube Chart) and EA Sports’ ‘NBA Street V3’ (PS2/XB/GC) at No34 in its second week on the shelves. Despite the lack of new entries on the All Formats Chart, several new releases make an impact on their individual format charts: Konami’s ‘Suikoden IV’ at No19 and Sega’s ‘Altered Beast’ at No31 on the PS2 Full Price Chart, Midas Interactive’s ‘He-Man: Defender of Grayskull’ at No20 on the PS2 Budget Chart, Konami’s ‘Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship Tournament 2005’ at No5 on the GBA Chart and finally Digital Jesters’ timely ‘Pro Rugby Manager 2’ at No9 and Dreamcatcher/Mindscape’s ‘Superpower 2’ at No34 on the PC Entertainment Full Price Chart.
