Damien's Back On Top

Eight years after his previous album '9' debuted at No1 on the Irish Album Chart, Damien Rice repeats the feat this week with his third studio release 'My Favourite Faded Fantasy'.

Taylor Swift is bumped to No2 after just one week at the top with '1989', ahead of Ed Sheeran, a non-mover at No3 with 'X'. Calvin Harris claims the second new entry of the week with 'Motion' at No5 - his third Top 10 in Ireland following 'Ready For The Weekend' (No6 in 2009) and '18 Months' (No2 in 2012). Just outside the Top 10, Bob Dylan & The Band arrive at No11 with the latest in the Bootleg Series - 'Volume 11: The Basement Tapes', a selection of previously unreleased recordings from 1967. The third and fourth newcomers this week arrive at No17, Andre Rieu's 'Love In Venice', and No19, Neil Young's 'Storytone'.

The Top 3 singles are unchanged since last week, with Ed Sheeran still leading the pack ahead of Meghan Trainor and Taylor Swift. Cheryl Fernandez-Versini lands at No4 with 'I Don't Care', her sixth solo Top 5 single in Ireland - and four of the other five reached No1. The next new entry is at No22 for Calvin Harris with 'Outside' (feat. Ellie Goulding), the fourth single from 'Motion'. The third and final new entry in this week's Top 30 is at No25 for Big Generator with 'Going Through The Motions', their fourth hit single over an eighteen year period, and the first since 2005 when 'Walking In My Shoes' reached No10.
