Ronson & Mars End Year On A High

In the last chart of 2014, Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars take a second week at No1 with 'Uptown Funk!'.

Despite a high volume of sales on CD, X Factor winner Ben Haenow remains at No2 with 'Something I Need', outgunned by the downloads and streams for Mark Ronson. The only new entry in the Top 50 this week is at No18 for Swedish DJ Alesso with 'Heroes (We Could Be)', featuring compatriot singer Tove Lo. This is Alesso's second appearance in the Irish Chart - he featured on Calvin Harris' No5 hit 'Under Control' in 2013 - and it's Tove Lo's first appearance.

Ed Sheeran holds at No1 on the Album Chart for a seventh week with 'X' - the best-selling album of 2014 in Ireland by a considerable margin. Hozier is at No2 this week, and also No2 in the year-end rankings with his eponymous debut album. Sam Smith completes the Top 3 with 'In The Lonely Hour', ahead of One Direction at No4 with 'Four' and Taylor Swift at No5 with '1989'.
