EA’s ‘FIFA Street’ scores a hat-trick of weeks at No1 on the Entertainment Software All Formats Chart, blocking shots on goal from Activision’s ‘Doom 3’ on Xbox and strong attacking play by Ubisoft’s ‘Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory’ (up from No3 to No2 with the PS2 version up 18% on last week).
‘Doom 3’ (XB/PC) re-enters the Top 40 at No3 with the Xbox version becoming the 2nd fastest-selling Xbox game in the UK behind ‘Halo 2’. The Doom license accounts for the only new entries in the Top 40 this week, with the PC add-on ‘Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil’ debuting at No27. It is very congested at the top of the chart with the difference between No1 and No3 only 2,000 units. ‘Super Mario 64 DS’ manages to jump back into the Top 10 up from No11 to No8, filling the space left by ‘Devil May Cry 3’ (PS2) – down from No6 to No13 and ‘Rugby 2005’ (PS2/XB/PC) – down from No8 to No14.
