Tony Christie has a third week at No1 on the Singles Chart with ‘(Is This The Way To) Amarillo’, still ahead of 50 Cent’s ‘Candy Shop’ which holds at No2 for a second week.
Ciara and Missy Elliott have this week’s highest new entry at No3 with ‘1, 2 Step’ – a personal best on this chart for both artists: Ciara peaked at No4 with ‘Goodies’ earlier this year and Missy Elliott (with Christina Aguilera) made it as far as No5 with ‘Car Wash’ in 2004. The next new entry comes from Mullingar’s Blizzards, who debut at No11 with their independently-released ‘First Girl To Leave Town’. There’s little change at the top end of the Albums Chart for a third consecutive week, with The Killers ‘Hot Fuss’ at No1, 50 Cent’s 'The Massacre’ up from No3 to No2 and Stereophonics ‘Language. Sex. Violence. Other?’ down from No2 to No3. The highest Top 40 new entries are outside the Top 10, with Akon at No13 with his debut ‘Trouble’, Jem at No16 with ‘Finally Woken’ and Garbage at No18 with ‘Bleed Like Me’, their fourth studio album and first for nearly 4 years since ‘Beautiful Garbage’ debuted at No4 in October 2001.
