The Weeknd Is Here


This week's Singles Chart gets a new Number One as The Weeknd continues his steady climb up the Chart to take 'Can't Feel My Face' right to the top.

Walk The Moon also continue in the right direction - up to No2 from No4 with 'Shut Up And Dance', while Calvin Harris & Disciples also climb two places with 'How Deep Is Your Love' up to No3. A week ahead of the release of her debut album, Jess Glynne gets this week's highest new entry with her latest single 'Don't Be So Hard On Yourself' entering at No24. She is no stranger to the Top 30 having made six appearances there in the last two years including a No7 hit with 'Hold My Hand' earlier this year and a stint at the top of the Chart as guest vocalist on Clean Bandits' 'Rather Be' last year. There are two other new entries in this week's Top 50 - the first goes to 5 Seconds Of Summer who make available the first track off their forthcoming album - 'Fly Away' and enter the Chart at No45, and Maroon 5 whose latest Single 'This Summer' enters at No46.

Ed Sheeran returns to the top of the Album Chart this week - the eighth time that 'x' has gone back to the summit since release - and its seventeenth week at No1 in total. Taylor Swift climbs from No6 to No2 with '1989' while Hozier holds steady at No3. As he continues with his summer tour, Nathan Carter sees a return to the Top 5 for 'Beautiful Life' which climbs from No11 to No4. There are two new entries in this week's Top 40 - the first goes to Bullet For My Valentine for their fifth studio release, 'Venom' , which enters at No26 - a better showing than 2013's 'Temper Temper' which only reached No61. The second new entry goes to Melanie Martinez for her debut release 'Cry Baby' which is her first showing on this Chart, at No41.
