This week sees the release of Oasis’ seventh studio album – ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’ – which heads straight for the No1 spot, the fourth of their albums to debut at No1.


Faithless drop one position to No2 with ‘Forever Faithless – The Greatest Hits’, as Gorillaz’s ‘Demon Days’ also drop a position down to No3. After a turbulent 5 years since their last album – ‘Hi-Lo’ – the Walls (previously The Stunning) achieve their best chart position to date as ‘New Dawn Breaking’ enters the chart at No5. The Black Eyed Peas also achieve their highest first week position on the album chart as their new release ‘Monkey Business’ takes the No7 spot. Almost 20 years since Harold Faltermeyer took ‘Axel F’ to No1 Crazy Frog move up a place to take the top position on this week’s Singles Chart. Akon’s ‘Lonely’ drops a place to No2 whilst Tony Christie’s ‘Amarillo’ holds on to the No3 position. This week’s highest new entry is the Foo Fighters’ ‘Best Of You’ which enters at No20 – a taster for their upcoming album ‘In Your Honour’. Other new entries in the Top 30 include Faithless Feat Estelle – ‘Why Go?’ at No24 and another prelude to a new album – The White Stripes ‘Blue Orchid’ at No26 – taken from next week’s ‘Get Behind Me Satan’.
