Bowie's Blackstar Remains On Top

22/Jan/2016

There is no change at the top of this week's Album Chart as David Bowie's final album 'Blackstar' holds on to the Top spot for a second week.

Adele's '25' inches closer back up to the top - swapping places with Justin Bieber whose 'Purpose' drops a place to No3. Panic! At The Disco get their highest placing on this Chart with their fifth studio release 'Death Of A Bachelor' entering at No4, beating their previous best of No7 for 2008's 'Pretty.Odd' while Jack Savoretti gets a re-entry for 2015's 'Written In Scars' at No17 - his highest placing for this album which debuted at No23 almost a year ago. This weeks chart also has a nod to another rock great who passed away this week as The Eagles 'Complete Greatest Hits' re-enters the Chart at No40 in response to founder member Glenn Frey's premature death.

Justin Bieber remains at No1 on this weeks Single Chart - giving him his ninth consecutive week at No1 - two weeks with 'Sorry' and now seven weeks with 'Love Yourself'. With 'What Do You Mean?' having a long run at the top last autumn he has now spent nearly a third of the last 12 months at No1.
