The Gloaming take their No2 to No1


Following on from their debut album, Irish supergroup The Gloaming achieve No1 this week with their second release, suitably titled '2'. This brings them their first No1 to date, having previously peaked at No4 with their debut album 'The Gloaming'.

With Adele's '25' dropping to No2, another new entry lies at No3 this week - The 1975's second album 'I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It'. Despite not achieving No1, it gains them their highest position in these charts to date, beating their eponymous debut album which reached No4. These two releases push Walking on Cars' 'Everything This Way' and Justin Bieber's 'Purpose' down to Nos 4 and 5 respectively. There is one other new album in the Top40 - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' 'This Unruly Mess I've Made', enters at No6 and matches the success of their previous album 'The Heist', which peaked at No6. Other new entries this week include Anthrax's eleventh studio album 'For All Kings' at No54 and Santigold's third studio album '99 Cents' entering at No90.

With a slight change at the top of this week's Singles Charts, Lukas Graham enjoys his third week at No1 with '7 Years'. Rihanna and Drake take No2 with 'Work' and Jonas Blue and Dakota drop to No3 this week with 'Fast Car'. Swedish singer-songwriter Zara Larsson reaches No4 with 'Lush Life', pushing Zayn's 'Pillowtalk' down to No5. The only notable new entry this week include Fifth Harmony feat. TY Dolla $ign with 'Work From Home' at No37.
