Just For The Thrill Of It

Mike Posner's reign at the top of the Singles Chart is short lived as Sia & Sean Paul knock him off the top spot after one week with 'Cheap Thrills' climbing from No3 to No1.

This is Sia's first time at No1 in this Chart - her previous best as lead artist was for last year's 'Elastic Heart' which peaked at No4. Mike Posner drops to No2 with 'I Took A Pill In Ibiza' closely followed at No3 by Lukas Graham's '7 Years' which also drops a place. The one and only new entry in this week's Top 50 goes to Seo Linn at No26 for 'Music Makers' their latest release specially commissioned by RTE for the 1916 Centenary Celebrations over Easter weekend.

The Album Chart sees no change at the top as Adele's '25' holds off a strong challenge from Zayn Malik whose debut solo album 'Mind Of Mine' enters at No2. He heads a quartet of new releases in this week's Top 75 - the second of which goes to Birdy for her third studio release 'Beautiful Lies' which enters at No5. This gives her her highest position to date on this Chart - 2011's 'Birdy' peaked at No40 while 2013's 'Fire Within' made it to No7. Third on the list is Joe Bonamassa whose latest album 'Blues Of Desperation' enters at No45 - despite being his twelfth studio release it is only his second to enter the Top 50 - his last release 'Different Shades Of Blue' debuted at No33. The final new entry is occupied by London based Dubliner Lucy O'Byrne - having come to the public's attention as a contestant on 'The Voice' in both Ireland and the UK she releases her first album 'Debut' and enters the Chart at No57.
