RIP Prince

It's just over a week since the music world lost another all-time great and unsurprisingly, Prince dominates the top of this week's Album Chart.

'The Very Best Of Prince' climbs the chart to No2 while 'Ultimate' takes the No3 spot. Of his studio Albums 'Sign 'O' The Times' proves the most enduring as it enters the Chart at No10 followed by 'Purple Rain' at No11 and 'Parade' at No53. It is Beyoncé however that tops this week's Chart with her sixth solo album 'Lemonade.' This is her fifth time topping this chart, four times as a solo performer and once with Destiny's Child. Cavan's Lisa O'Neill gets this weeks highest brand new entry as her latest album 'Pothole In The Sky' enters at No40 while John Spillane re-enters the Chart with 'Irish Songs We Learned At School' at No47 after his appearance on last Friday's 'Late Late Show'.

For another week there is very little change to the top of the Singles Charts. Sia remains at No1 for a fifth week with 'Cheap Thrills' followed by a stationary Mike Posner 'I Took A Pill In Ibiza' at No2. Drake's 'One Dance' moves up to No3 from last weeks No5 with Dnce also moving up the Top Ten with 'Cake By The Ocean' climbing from No10 to No6. With limited streaming availability Prince does not make the same impact on the Singles Chart as the Album Chart but sees 'Purple Rain' re-enter the Chart at No23 with the highest digital sales of the week.
