Record Breaking Blunt


James Blunt has a record breaking week this week as both his single –‘You’re Beautiful’ and album – ‘Back To Bedlam’ stay at the top of their respective charts. This makes him the first artist to take the No1 spot on both charts for a fourth consecutive week since the official Irish Charts began.

Akon gets this week’s highest new entry on the Singles Chart with ‘Belly Dancer’ which debuts at No11, whilst Goldfrapp acheive their best ever singles position as ‘Ooh La La’ , the first single to be taken from the soon to be released ‘Supernature’ album, enters the chart at No16. Craig David makes a return to the chart after an absence of almost two years with ‘All The Way’ slipping into the Top 30 at No27. Michael Jackson’s ‘The Essential’ holds on to the No2 position on the Albums Chart this week behind James Blunt , as Coldplay’s ‘X&Y climbs a couple of places to No3. Daniel Powter, whose single ‘Bad Day’ moved up to No3 this week , sees his debut album enter the chart at No29, whilst ‘The Dangermen Sessions Vol 1’ from Madness, their first album in six years, enters the chart at No39.
