From Bad Seeds grow a Chart-Topping Tree.

16/Sep/2016

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds achieve their first No1 in these charts to date with their 16th studio album 'Skeleton Tree'.

After weeks of reentries into the Top10, this week sees a variety of new entries enter into the Top20; Bastille with their second studio album 'Wild World' at No2. Followed by last week's No1 'We Move' from James Vincent McMorrow, now at No3 and Ed Sheeran's 'X' at No4, Cathy Davey grabs the No5 spot with her new album 'New Forest'. This marks her highest entry into these charts since her 2010 album 'The Nameless' went straight to No1 in its first week. Other new entries include Jack White's "Acoustic Recordings 1998-2016" at No10, Teenage Fanclub's 11th studio album 'Here' at No15 followed by "Schmilco" from US rockers Wilco at No18. Landing just outside of the Top40 in its first week, Meat Loaf's new release 'Braver Than We Are' debuts at No43.

In the Singles Charts, again we see no new entries, as well as very little change. With Chainsmokers feat. Halsey holding No1 with 'Closer', No2 gets held by Justin Bieber and DJ Snake with 'Let Me Love You' - likewise with Justin and Major Lazer & MO at No3 with 'Cold Water'. Twenty One Pilots hold No4 with 'Heathens' but this week's biggest climber stands at No5, moving up from No80 last week; Sia feat Kendrick Lamar with 'The Greatest'. The only new entry into this week's Top50 is Lady Gaga with her latest single 'Perfect Illusion' at No22.
