Slow Motion Replay

23/Sep/2005

David Gray has a second week at No1 on the Album Chart with ‘Life In Slow Motion’, but there’s a strong challenge this week from Sharon Shannon’s ‘The Collection 1990-2005’ which is a new entry at No2. Her previous best on this chart was No4, the debut position for both ‘The Diamond Mountain Sessions’ (2000) and ‘Libertango’ (2003).

James Blunt’s ‘Back To Bedlam’ drops one place to No3, ahead of Kanye West’s ‘Late Registration’, up from No5 to No4. The next highest new entry is Bon Jovi’s ‘Have A Nice Day’ at No9 appropriately for their ninth studio album, falling short of the No5 debut for their previous studio album ‘Bounce’ in September 2002. The Pussycat Dolls & Busta Rhymes make it 3 weeks at No1 on the Singles Chart with ‘Don’t Cha’, still ahead of non-movers Rihanna at No2, Daniel Powter at No3 and Jessica Simpson at No4 – the top 4 titles have now remained unchanged for 3 consecutive weeks. There are 3 new entries in this week’s Top 10: Kelly Clarkson ‘Behind These Hazel Eyes’ at No7, Kanye West ‘Gold Digger’ at No8 and David Mitchell ‘Old Time Rock‘n’Roll’ at No10.
