Eminem Calls The Shots

Eminem crashes into the Album Chart at No1 this week with ‘Curtain Call – The Hits’ – his fourth Irish No1 album and the third to debut at the top. In the process he racks up the highest weekly sales for any album this year, and the highest since U2’s ‘Atomic Bomb’ in November last year.

98FM’s ‘Toll Trolls’ have a second week at No2 with ‘Make A Wish’, followed at No3 by Mario Rosenstock’s ‘Gift Grub 6’, down to No3 after 4 weeks on top. Westlife ‘s ‘Face To Face’ slips one place to No4 ahead of Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Breakaway’ - up 2 places to No5 after 19 weeks in the Top 20. After sitting at No3 for 3 weeks, Black Eyed Peas ‘My Humps’ surges ahead of the pack to take the No1 spot on this week’s Singles Chart – their third Irish No1 single after ‘Where Is The Love?’ and ‘Shut Up’ which both made it to the top in 2003. Pussycat Dolls hold at No2 for a second week, just ahead of Westlife who drop to No3 after 6 weeks at No1. Sugababes have this week’s highest new entry at No7 with ‘Ugly’, their 12th Top 30 single in Ireland in 5 years including one No1 (Push The Button) and three No2’s (Freak Like Me, Round Round & Hole In The Head).
