Cashing In

This week’s Album Chart belongs to Johnny Cash as his ‘Ring Of Fire – The Legend Of’ climbs to the top of the chart deposing the Arctic Monkeys ‘Whatever…” which has to settle for the No2 spot. Johnny Cash also occupies 7 other positions in this week’s Top 75 continuing to benefit from the success of the film ‘Walk The Line’ – a feat a little short of the 11 album positions U2 occupied the week of their Dublin ‘Vertigo Tour’ dates in 2005.

James Blunt climbs back to the No3 position from No6 as Kelly Clarkson also changes direction and moves up a place from No5 to No4. In a week devoid of many new releases Belle & Sebastian take the highest new entry as ‘The Life Pursuit’ enters the chart at No23. No one can move Shayne Ward from the top of the Singles Chart as he spends yet another week at No1 with ‘That’s My Goal’ – the first artist to spend at least seven weeks at the top since Black Eyed Peas 9 week reign back in 2003 with “Where Is The Love?”. Chris Brown’s ‘Run It!’ moves up a place to No2 as Nizlopi’s ‘JCB Song’ drops back to No3. Irish band - The Marshals - take this week’s highest new entry debuting in the Top 10 at No9 with their first single ‘Make Her Cry’.
