Johnny Cash continues to dominate the album charts, with ‘Ring Of Fire – The Legend’ taking a third week at the top of the Artist Album Chart and his bio-pic soundtrack ‘Walk The Line’ taking a fourth week at the top of the Compilations Chart.
Corinne Bailey Rae has a second week at No2 with her self-titled debut, followed at No3 by Arctic Monkeys ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not’, up from No4 to No3 after 8 weeks on chart. Placebo have this week’s highest new entry at No21 with ‘Meds’, their fifth studio album in 10 years and the first since ‘Sleeping With Ghosts’ which debuted at No14 in March 2003. Pat Shortt has a fourth consecutive week at the top of the Singles Chart with ‘Jumbo Breakfast Roll’, still outselling the nearest challenger by nearly 4:1 and accounting for one in three of every physical single sold in Ireland over the past four weeks. Pussycat Dolls have a third week at No2 with ‘Beep’ and similarly Chico has a third week at No3 with ‘Chico Time’. Black Eyed Peas have this week’s highest new entry at No4 with ‘Pump It’, their eighth Irish hit single, and their follow up to ‘My Humps’, which was their third Irish Number One.
