FIFA still streets ahead

20/Mar/2006

‘FIFA Street 2’ notches up a third week at No1 on the All Formats Chart, while ‘Fight Night Round 3’ knocks out Ubisoft to climb one place to No2, enabling EA to reclaim the top 2 places in the All Formats Chart.

Ubisoft’s 3rd instalment in the Ghost Recon series, ‘Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter’ is joined by the Xbox version this week, but it still falls one place from No2 to No3. Sony is the big winner this week with 2 new releases in the Top 5 – ‘Buzz! The Big Quiz’ at No 4 and ‘24: The Game’ at No5. In fact all 3 Top 10 new releases this week are PS2-only as Atari’s ‘Driver: Parallel Lines’ (Xbox version due next week) crashes in at No8, becoming Atari’s only representative in the All Formats Top 40. The racing games pile up at the bottom of the All Formats Top 10 with ‘Burnout Revenge’ a re-entry at No9 thanks to the release of the Xbox 360 version and ‘Toca Racer Driver 3’ dropping back 4 places from No6 to No10. There are 4 other games that break into the All Formats Top 40 this week and they all come from different publishers. THQ’s ‘The Outfit’ at No13 and ‘Commandos: Strike Force’ from Eidos at No18 form part of a new military-game chart offensive, while Sega’s ‘Sonic Riders’ slides in at No20 and Capcom’s ‘Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams’ wakes up to life at No26.
