The legend that is Lara Croft continues to dominate the All Formats Chart with ‘Tomb Raider: Legend’ at No1 for a second week (PS2 version up 4%, but XB360 version down 41% on last week).
The Easter break brings about an impressive performance from Vivendi’s ‘Ice Age 2: The Meltdown’ which topples both ‘FIFA Street 2’ and ‘The Godfather’ to claim second place. EA’s ‘FIFA Street 2’ goes on a run of 3 weeks at No3 in the All Formats chart, outselling ‘The Godfather’ which drops 2 places from No2 to No4. There are now 4 football games in the All Formats Top 20 thanks to the re-entry of ‘Football Manager 2006’ at No5 (XB360 and PSP versions new this week with just 7 weeks to go until the World Cup). ‘Football Manager 2006’ on PSP debuts at No1 in the PSP Chart, proving that there is a market for football management games on handheld consoles. ‘King Kong: Official Game of the Movie’ climbs back onto the All Formats Top 10 tower, clambering up 7 places from No15 to No8 – buoyed by the launch of the film on DVD and strong retailer promotions. ‘Battlefield 2: Modern Combat’ becomes this week’s 3rd Top 10 re-entry, back in at No10 due to the launch of an enhanced XB360 version (No2 behind Tomb Raider in the XB360 Chart). All new entries this week have to settle for places outside the Top 10: ‘The Sims 2: Family Fun Stuff’ on PC at No13, ‘Singstar Rocks!’ PS2 at No18 and ‘Dragon Quest: The Journey of the Cursed King’ PS2 at No19.
