Shayne Has The X-Factor!

21/Apr/2006

For only the 5th time in the last ten years a former No1 returns to the top of the Singles Chart having previously been ousted from the top spot – this week it is the turn of Gnarls Barkley to reclaim the top prize as ‘Crazy’ heads back to No1 after dropping to No2 last week. Shayne Ward’s, ‘No Promises’, slips back to No2 whilst Mary J. Blige & U2 climb a place from No4 to No3 with ‘One’.

The Top 10 sees two new entries this week. Rihanna enters the Chart at No4 with her third release – ‘SOS’ – a better placing than her Christmas release , ‘If It’s Lovin’ That You Want’ which entered the Chart at No8, but not quite a match for her first single, ‘Pon De Replay’, which entered at No2 back in August 2005. ‘You’re A Star’ winner Lucia Evans claims the second highest new entry as her debut single, ‘Bruised But Not Broken’, slips into the Chart at No5. The Album Chart sees a new No1 – the fourth change at the top in as many weeks as Shayne Ward’s self-titled debut album firmly positions itself at the top of the Chart. Christy Moore’s ‘Live At The Point 2006’ drops to No2 whilst Johnny Cash’s ‘Ring Of Fire – The Legend’ strengthens it’s reign in the Top 10 by climbing back to No3 having now spent 22 weeks in the Chart.
