Christina: Third Time Lucky

Christina Aguilera debuts at No1 on the Album Chart with her third album ‘Back To Basics’, her first Irish Number One album after her self-titled debut album peaked at No29 in 1999 and ‘Stripped’ made it to No2 in 2002.

Snow Patrol’s ‘Eyes Open’ dips to No2 after a week on top, ahead of non-mover Kooks ‘Inside In/Inside Out’ at No3. In a quiet week for new releases, James Morrison continues to climb the chart and breaks into the Top 10 this week with ‘Undiscovered’, up from No12 to No7. After debuting at No7 two weeks ago and climbing to No3 last week, Cascada jumps to the top of this week’s Singles Chart with ‘Everytime We Touch’, denying Shakira a tenth week at No1 for ‘Hips Don’t Lie’. Rihanna slips to No3 with ‘Unfaithful’ after 4 weeks at No2, ahead of this week’s highest climber Chamillionaire (feat. Krayzie Bone), up 22 places from No26 with ‘Ridin’. This week’s highest new entry comes from Micky Modelle vs. Jessy at No7 with ‘Dancing In The Dark’, joining label-mate Cascada to give All Around The World two songs in this week’s Top 10.
