EA’s ‘Need for Speed: Carbon’ holds on to pole position in the All Formats Chart for a second week with sales up 4% (Xbox version new this week).

‘Pro Evolution Soccer 6’ and ‘FIFA 07’ are upstaged by newcomers ‘WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2007’ and ‘Call of Duty 3’ debuting strongly at No2 and No3 respectively. The PS2 version of THQ’s wrestling game beats its predecessor’s launch week by 10,000 units and becomes the 4th fastest selling game of 2006 behind the footballing hat-trick of ‘PES 6’, ‘FIFA 07’ and ‘Football Manager 2007’. Activision’s ‘Call of Duty 3’ distinguishes itself by becoming the 2nd fastest selling Xbox 360 game ever (behind ‘PES 6’), selling 62% more than ‘Call of Duty 2’ when it was launched with the Xbox 360 console in week 48 2005. The launch this week of the PSP version of ‘Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy’ re-invigorates Lucasarts’ successful franchise, forcing the game back into the All Formats Top 10, up from No11 to No8. Sega mount an assault on the PC sector with ‘Medieval II: Total War’ topping the PC Chart ahead of Sega’s very own ‘Football Manager 2007’ and entering the All Formats Top 10 at No9. Nintendo launch their 3rd Pokemon DS title this week with ‘Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue’ new at No14, but behind EA’s ‘The Sims 2: Pets’ at No2 in the DS Chart. GBA partner-title ‘Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue’ tops the GBA Chart and sneaks into the All Formats Top 40 at No34. Vivendi now have three Top 20 All Formats games thanks to the release of ‘F.E.A.R’ on Xbox 360 pushing the critically-acclaimed title back into the Top 40 at No20, behind stable-mates ‘Scarface: The World is Yours’ down from No10 to No15 and ‘The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning’ down from No16 to No18. THQ’s ‘Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War Dark Crusade’ gets the smackdown treatment, knocked out of the All Formats Top 10 from No9 to No27. There are now 3 Buzz! games in the All Formats Top 40 as Sony’s ‘Buzz! The Sports Quiz’ debuts at No31 behind ‘Buzz! Junior: Jungle Party’, down from No21 to No28, but ahead of ‘Buzz! The Big Quiz’, down from No28 to No35. THQ’s ‘Bratz: Forever Diamondz’ enters the All Formats Top 40 at No37 in its second week, while the earlier Bratz game ‘Bratz: Rock Angelz’ re-enters the Top 40 at No40.
