The Way It Is

27/Jul/2007

This week’s Singles Chart sees a change at the top as Timbaland achieves his first Irish No1. ‘The Way I Are’ (Feat Keri Hilson) climbs from last week’s No4 to get to the top displacing Fergie’s ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’ which drops a place to No2. Timbaland had previously made the No2 spot in 2007 with ‘Give It To Me’ his collaboration with Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake. Rihanna feat Jay-Z drop a place from No2 to No3 with ‘Umbrella’.

This week’s highest new entry belongs to Aslan who enter the Chart at No5 with ‘Here Comes The Sun’ – an optimistic title and their best chart placing since 2004’s ‘Crazy World’ which reached No3 in 2004 and ‘Shine A Light’ which reached No4 in the same year. Journey return to the Top 20 at No6, after a few week’s absence, with ‘Don’t Stop Believin’’ being given an extra boost as the final episode of the Sopranos, where it is played over the closing scene, airs in Ireland. The Album Chart sees very little movement in the Top 10 as Paul Potts holds on to the No1 slot for a second week with ‘One Chance’. Kings Of Leon’s ‘Because Of The Times’ also stays put at No2 while Timabaland’s ‘Shock Value’ climbs from last week’s No6 to this week’s No3. The highest new entry this week is Garbage’s Greatest Hits package – ‘Absolute Garbage’ which enters the Chart at No22.
