Double Top

As the market slows down for the summer holidays this week’s Singles Chart remains steady at the top as Timbaland holds on to No1 spot for a second week with ‘The Way I Are’ (Feat Keri Hilson) . Fergie’s ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’ remains firm at No2 while Rihanna’s ‘Umbrella’ stays at No3.

There are only 2 new entries in the Top 30 this week – both coming from the new Simpsons film – “The Simpsons Movie” : Hans Zimmers enters the Chart at No13 with ‘Spider Pig’ while Green Day enter at No 29 with ‘The Simpsons Theme’ both on Download only.

Timbaland celebrates the double this week as ‘Shock Value’ finally reaches the pinnacle of the Album Chart 18 weeks after release to echo Rihanna’s achievement of four week ago by topping both charts. The Kings of Leon remain at No2 with ‘Because Of The Times’ while Paul Potts drops from No1 to No3. In a very quiet week for new albums Korn achieve the highest new entry as ‘Untitled’ enters at No31 – their best first week showing was No2 for 2002’s ‘Untouchables’.
