In another quiet week for new releases the Singles Chart remains fairly static. Timbaland feat. Keri Hilson holds on to the No1 spot for a third week with ‘The Way I Are’ while Fergie remains at No2 with ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’. Hans Zimmer’s ‘Spider Pig’ is one of the week’s biggest climbers moving from last week’s No13 to this week’s No3 while his orchestral version of ‘The Simpsons Theme’ also enters the Top 50 at No46.
A third track from the Simpson’s Movie – Green Day’s ‘The Simpsons Theme’ - also moves up the Chart from No29 to No15. This week’s highest new entry, selling on download only, is Kanye West’s ‘Stronger’ which enters the Top 10 at No9. There is no change in the Top 5 on this week’s Album Chart as Timbaland holds on to the No1 prize with ‘Shock Value’, Kings Of Leon are unmoved at No2 with ‘Because Of The Times’ and Paul Potts stays at No3 with ‘One Chance’. Newcomer Kate Nash achieves this week’s highest new entry as her debut release ‘Made Of Bricks’ enters the Chart at No8. The Coral’s fifth Album - ‘Roots & Echoes’ - enters the Chart at No33 – a better first week’s showing than 2002’s debut album ‘The Coral’ which entered at No41 and 2004’s ‘Nightfreak & The Sons Of Becker’ which entered at No35, but short of 2003’s ‘Magic & Medicine’ which entered at No14 and 2005’s ‘Invisible Invasion’ which made No16 in it’s first week.
