Timbaland Reclaims Kings’ Crown

In a close-fought battle at the top of the Album Chart, Timbaland returns to No1 with ‘Shock Value’ just 22 sales sales ahead of Kings Of Leon’s ‘Because Of The Times’, back to No2 after one week on top.

There’s very little movement in this week’s Top 10, but there are three new entries in this week’s Top 20, the highest of which is Dolores Keane’s ‘Essential Collection’ at No10 - exactly 10 years after her ‘Best Of’ compilation reached No1. Rilo Kiley follow up 2004’s ‘More Adventurous’ with their major label debut ‘Under The Blacklight’ new at No17, their fourth album and first to make the Irish Charts. Richard Hawley completes the trio of Top 20 new entries at No20 with ‘Lady’s Bridge’, his follow-up to the Mercury-nominated ‘Cole’s Corner’ which has never charted in Ireland despite steady sales since release in September 2005. Timbaland makes it 5 consecutive weeks at No1 on the Singles Chart with ‘The Way I Are’, ahead of non-movers Kanye West ‘Stronger’ at No2 and Fergie ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’ at No3. Plain White T’s ‘Hey There Delilah’ continues to climb, up from No5 to No4 – and this week’s No1 download, with physical release scheduled for next week. Sean Kingston has this week’s highest new entry at No8 with his debut single ‘Beautiful Girls’, one place ahead of the next Top 40 new entry - 50 Cent & Justin Timberlake’s ‘Ayo Technology (She Wants It)’ at No9.
