EA’s ‘Harry Potter – Prisoner Of Azkaban’ (PS2/XB/GC/GBA/PC) debuts at No1, pre-empting the movie by 4 days.
Things are slightly different this time round as the first two Harry Potter movies/games (Philosopher’s Stone / Chamber Of Secrets) were released in the yuletide season. EA’s ‘UEFA Euro 2004 Portugal’ (PS2/XB/PC) drops to No2 whilst Eidos’ ‘Hitman: Contracts’ (PS2/XB/PC) remains at No3. Sony’s PS2 ‘GT4 Prologue’ debuts at No4, Symantec’s PC ‘Norton Internet Security 2004’ drops one place to No5 and Nintendo’s Gamecube ‘Pokemon Colosseum’ drops 4 places to No6. EA’s ‘Need For Speed: Underground’ (PS2/XB/GC/GBA/PC) is this week’s highest climber, up 14 places from No21 to No7 thanks to some retail price promotional activity. Midway’s ‘The Suffering’ (PS2/XB) drops one place to No8, whilst Konami remain at No9 with PS2/PC ‘Pro Evolution Soccer 3’. Topping off the Top 10 is a third new entry, Capcom’s PS2 ‘Hyper Street Fighter II Anniversary Edition’, which includes a blend of 5 previous Street Fighter II games. On the subject of movie tie-ins, Vivendi’s PS2/XB/GBA ‘Van Helsing’ drops 8 places this week from No6 to No14, whilst EA’s ‘Lord Of The Rings – Return Of The King’ continues to climb (from No41 to No29 to No21 in the last 3 weeks) thanks to the activity centering around the DVD release on 25th May.
