There is no change in the Top 3 of the All Formats Chart for week 21 with EA’s ‘UEFA Euro 2004 Portugal’ (PS2/XB/PC) at No1, Nintendo’s ‘Pokemon Colosseum’ (GC) at No2 and Eidos’ ‘Hitman: Contracts’ (PS2/XB/PC) at No3.
There is good news for Vivendi Universal Games as ‘Van Helsing’ (PS2/XB/GBA) jumps 5 places from a launch week debut of No11 to claim No6 in the All Formats Chart, doubling its sales. Midway’s ‘The Suffering’ (PS2/XB) also manages to improve on its launch week, up from No9 to No7, while the recently budgetised ‘Pro Evolution Soccer 3’ (PS2/PC) continues to climb, entering the Top 10 at No9, up 6 places from No15. Microsoft’s ‘Ninja Gaiden’ by contrast manages to sell only half of its week 20 launch week sales, but it only falls one place from No4 to No5. The big new entries this week fail to break into the All Formats Top 10: Sony’s PS2-only Eye Toy compatible karaoke title ‘Singstar’ debuts at No12, while Microsoft’s Xbox-only, Xbox Live enabled ‘Rallisport Challenge II’ comes in at No14. The highest climber in the All Formats Top 40 is Ubisoft’s TV tie-in sequel, ‘CSI: Dark Motives’ (PC), up 8 places from No34 to No26, while re-entries for EA’s Medal of Honor: Rising Sun’ (No25), ‘Lord of the Rings: Return of the King’ (No29) and ‘Harry Potter: Chamber of Secrets’ (No36) are due mostly to price promotions, but also perhaps thanks to the release this week of ‘Return Of The King’ on DVD and the pre-publicity for the 3rd Harry Potter film which is on release next week.
