Swedish musician & DJ Basshunter climbs from No2 to take this week’s top spot on the Singles Chart with ‘Now You’re Gone’ (feat. DJ Mental Theo’s Bazzheadz) - the first dance record to make No1 since Cascada’s ‘Everytime We Touch’ in October 2006.
Britney’s ‘Piece Of Me’ falls to No2 after two weeks on top, ahead of Nickelback’s ‘Rockstar’ which climbs to No3 after ten weeks in the Top 40 – and is this week’s top-selling download. Hotly-tipped newcomer Adele has this week’s highest climber with ‘Chasing Pavements’ up 19 places from No26 to No7 as physical sales kick in. Last week’s Top 2 albums swap positions this week, with Rihanna returning to the top with ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’ after a 28 week break. Amy Winehouse’s ‘Back To Black’ slips from No1 to No2, ahead of Britney’s ‘Blackout’ - a non-mover at No3. Tom Baxter continues to leap up the chart with ‘Skybound’, up from No11 to No4 this week after climbing 12 places the previous week. There are two new entries in this week’s Top 30: Joe Dolan’s ‘Greatest Hits’ at No19 (joining his ‘32 Greatest Ever Hits’ in the Top 20) and Lupe Fiasco’s second album ‘The Cool’ at No24 – a huge improvement on the No81 peak for his debut album ‘Food & Liquor’ in October 2006.
