EA’s ‘James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing’ (PS2/XB/GC/GBA) is No1 for a fourth week despite a decline in sales of 34% over all formats - and Codemasters’ ‘LMA Manager 2004’ now hot on its heels, holding strong at No2.
The highest new release is EA’s ‘Battlefield Vietnam’ (PC) straight in at No3, with Atari’s ‘Unreal Tournament’ (PC-DVD/CD) entering at No6, making it the highest selling PC-DVD game ever, a record that might well be broken by Ubisoft’s ‘Farcry’ which is released next week on PC-DVD only. In fact it has been a very good week for war-themed/FPS games with 6 games in the Top 10 All Formats Chart containing these elements. This is helped by the great performance of Ubisoft’s ‘Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Jungle Storm’ (PS2) which has the highest increase in sales out of all Top 40 All Formats titles, increasing sales by 45% and climbing 7 places from No14 to No7. The All Formats Top 10 this week is represented by a wide array of publishers, now containing titles from 8 different publishers. The All Formats Top 10 does not have room for some big name titles with ‘Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles’ (GC) dropping out of the Top 10, down from No5 to No11, while Eidos’s critically well-received ‘Deus Ex: Invisible War’ (XB/PC) almost falls out of the Top 10, down from No4 to No9. The only other new release in the All Formats Top 40 is Activision’s ‘Tenchu: Return from Darkness’ (XB) debuting at No29.
