Divas Chase TV Hopefuls

07/Nov/2008

The 2008 X-Factor Finalists take a second week at No1 with their charity single ‘Hero’, proceeds from which are supporting veterans’ charities Help The Heroes and The Poppy Appeal. There’s a major challenge, however, from Britney Spears ‘Womanizer’ new at No2 and Beyoncé ‘If I Were A Boy’, up from No12 to No3 – both download-only this week.

In a good week for the girls, Katy Perry climbs one place to No4 with ‘Hot ‘N’ Cold’, Girls Aloud are at No5 with ‘The Promise’ and Pink is at No6 with ‘So What’…and the next new entry comes from Christina Aguilera at No14 with ‘Keeps Getting’ Better’. Snow Patrol hold at No1 on the Album Chart for a second week with ‘A Hundred Million Suns’, ahead of Celine Dion’s ‘My Love – The Essential Collection’, up from No3 to No2, swapping places with Pink’s ‘Funhouse’, down from No2 to No3. There are three new entries in this week’s Top 10, the highest of which is Girls Aloud at No7 with ‘Out Of Control’, their sixth album in as many years but only the third to breach the Top 10 (their debut ‘Sound Of The Underground’ made No6 and their ‘Greatest Hits’ made No9). Razorlight have the next new entry at No8 with their third album ‘Slipway Fires’ and Enrique Iglesias completes the trio with his ‘Greatest Hits’ new at No9.
