First Lady

After debuting at No11 two weeks ago and climbing to No2 last week, Lady Gaga takes the No1 spot this week with ‘Just Dance’, deposing Alexandra Burke who slips to No2 after four weeks on top. Not content with taking the No1 spot, Lady Gaga also has this week’s highest (and only) Top 30 new entry at No8 with downloads of ‘Poker Face’, cementing her achievement as the first new artist to break through in 2009.

Outside the Top 10, several songs are making steady progress through the ranks this week: Kevin Rudolf climbs from No31 to No12 with ‘Let It Rock’, Lily Allen moves ten places from No23 to No13 with ‘The Fear’, Kanye West’s ‘Heartless’ is up from No21 to No14 and Girls Aloud jump from No24 to No18 with ‘The Loving Kind’. Beyoncé takes a second week at No1 on the Album Chart with ‘I Am…Sasha Fierce’, just ahead of The Kings Of Leon who hold at No2 with ‘Only By The Night’. As in the Singles Chart, Lady Gaga has this week’s highest (and only) new entry, with her debut album ‘The Fame’ coming in at No8.
