U2 storm straight to the top of the Album Chart this week with their 12th studio album ‘No Line On The Horizon’ – the fastest-selling album in Ireland since ‘How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb’, their previous studio album which was released in November 2004.
Lady Gaga has a second week at No2 with ‘The Fame’, ahead of Bell X1 whose ‘Blue Lights On The Runway’ slips to No3 after debuting at No1 last week. The Prodigy and Kings Of Leon both drop one place to No4 and No5 respectively, while U2 have a re-entry at No6 for their singles collection ‘U218 Singles’ which is being promoted at retail alongside the new album. Lady Gaga’s ‘Poker Face’ has a second week at the top of the Singles Chart this week, but challengers are snapping at her heels: Flo Rida & Ke$ha climb from No5 to No2 with ‘Right Round’, T.I & Justin Timberlake leap from No13 to No3 with ‘Dead And Gone’ and Kelly Clarkson is up from No11 to No4 with ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’. This week’s highest new entry is at No17 for The Saturdays with their version of Depeche Mode’s 1981 hit ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’ in aid of Comic Relief.
