Sonic spins into a second week at No1

16/Feb/2004

Sega’s ‘Sonic Heroes’ (PS2/GC/XB) is No1 for a second week with the PS2 version performing exceptionally well, selling 38% more units than last week.

In contrast, all of last weeks other new entries in the All Formats Top 40 Chart are down (Acclaim’s ‘Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance 2’ down from No5 to No7, Eidos’ ‘Legacy of Kain: Defiance’ down from No11 to No18, Deep Silver’s ‘X2: The Threat’ down 1 place from No18 to No19), all except for the budget title ‘Midway Arcade Treasures’ (PS2/XB) which climbs 5 places from No17 to No12. There is only one new entry in the All Formats Top 40 this week: Novalogic’s add-on ‘Delta Force: Black Hawk Down Team Sabre’ (PC) in at No37. The highest climber is Sony’s ‘Eye Toy: Groove’ (PS2) up 10 places from No39 to No29 and now selling bundled with the Eye Toy Camera. The highest re-entry is Vivendi’s ‘Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex’ back in the Top 40 at No24 thanks to strong budget retail promotion.
