Tinchy Stryder and N-Dubz take a fourth week at No1 on the Singles Chart with ‘Number 1’, but their lead over the chasing pack is slimmer than usual – just 324 sales separate the Top 5 this week.
Australian twin sisters The Veronicas lead this pack, new to the Top 30 at No2 with ‘Untouched’. Close on their heels at No3 is Dizzee Rascal & Armand Van Helden’s ‘Bonkers’, up one place after debuting last week at No4. The next two songs in the chart are both boosted by their CD sales this week with The Black Eyed Peas ‘Boom Boom Pow’ up from No8 to No4 and Lily Allen’s ‘Not Fair’ holding steady at No5. Eminem’s ‘Relapse’outsells the nearest challenger by more than 2:1 to hold on at the top of the Album Chart for a second week. Aslan have this week’s highest new entry at No2 with their covers album ‘Uncase’d’ – their best performance on this chart since 2001 when ‘Waiting For This Madness To End’ hit the top. The second new entry is at No13 for electric string quartet Escala, who launch their self-titled debut album a year after reaching the final of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
