B.E.P. Still Got It

Black Eyed Peas retain their chart crown this week , holding on at the top of the Singles Chart for a second week, with ‘I Gotta Feeling’. Cascada’s ‘Evacuate The Dancefloor’ climbs to No2 pushing David Guetta’s ‘When Love Takes Over’ down a place to No3.

JLS remain static at No4 with ‘Beat It’ while La Roux climbs to No5 with ‘Bulletproof’ – her highest placing in the Irish Singles Chart to date. This week’s highest new entry goes to the unusual collaboration between the UK’s Mr Hudson & America’s Kanye West. Mr Hudson appeared on Kanye West 2008 album ‘808’s & Heartbreak’ and Kanye West returns the favour as ‘Supernova’ enters the Chart at No7. The top of the Album Chart also remains unchanged this week as Michael Jackson’s ‘The Essential’ takes a fourth week at No1. U2 see a surge in sales ahead of this weekends live Irish dates as ‘No Line On The Horizon’ climbs 10 places to No2 while Florence And The Machine drop from No2 to No3 with ‘Lungs’. Leonard Cohen also sees the fruits of his Dublin live performances this week pay off as his ‘Greatest Hits’ climbs from No28 to enter the Top 10 at No6. Jordin Sparks second album ‘Battlefield’ is this weeks highest new entry – coming into the Top 20 at No17. Launched in 2007, as the youngest ever winner of American Idol, her debut self-titled album peaked at No19 in the chart.
