New year brings no change at No1

05/Jan/2004

‘Need for Speed: Underground’ (PS2/XB/GC/PC) from EA is again streets ahead of the other titles in the All Formats Top 40 Chart this week, holding at No1 for a second week.

The biggest surprise is probably Vivendi’s ‘The Simpsons: Hit and Run’ (PS2/XB/GC/PC) which moves up 2 places from No4 to No2, jumping ahead of EA’s Christmas No1 title ‘Medal of Honor: Rising Sun’ (PS2/XB/GC) which falls to No3. The highest climber this week is Symantec’s ‘Norton Internet Security 2004’ (PC) which climbs 23 places from No32 to No9. The best performing title of the sales promoted games is EA/Nintendo/Namco’s ‘Soulcalibur II’ (PS2/XB/GC) which gains 16 places, up from No38 to No22. Take 2’s ‘Grand Theft Auto: Double Pack’ (XB/PS2) which broke its street date on the Xbox version last week also fares particularly well, entering the All Formats Top 10 for the first time, up 11 places from No18 to No7 with the Xbox version topping the Xbox Chart. The Christmas sales also brought with it 4 re-entries, the highest being EA’s ‘The Sims’ (PC/PS2/XB/GC) which re-enters at No34.
