The X-Factor’s contribution to music sales in Ireland continues this week as the 2009 Finalists’ version of Michael Jackson’s ‘You Are Not Alone’ debuts at No1 on the Singles Chart – emulating the achievement of last year’s finalists who hit the top spot with ‘Hero’.

Black Eyed Peas hold for a second week at No2 with ‘Meet Me Halfway’ as Cheryl Cole slips from No1 to No3 with ‘Fight For This Love’.  Newcomer Jason Derulo has the next new entry at No5 with his first European release ‘Whatcha Say’ – a former No1 for him back home in the US.

Less than 50 sales separate the top 2 contenders on this week’s Album Chart, but it’s JLS who end up ahead to take a second week at No1 with their self-titled debut album.  Leona Lewis settles for a No2 entry for her second album ‘Echo’, exactly two years after her first release ‘Spirit’ debuted at No1.  Black Eyed Peas, with two concurrent hit singles, leap from No10 to No3 with ‘The E.N.D.’ and Michael Bublé’s ‘Crazy Love’ drops from No2 to No4.  Mario Rosenstock has the next new entry at No5 with ‘Gift Grub 10’, extending his run of Top 5 albums to ten in ten years, while Queen have the third and final Top 10 new entry at No9 with ‘Absolute Greatest’, their fifth greatest hits collection to chart in Ireland following ‘Greatest Hits I, II & III’ and ‘Queen Rocks’.
