Eminem debuts at No1 on this week’s Album Chart with his seventh solo studio album ‘Recovery’ – chalking up six consecutive No1 albums in Ireland over the past decade, which is more than any other artist except Westlife (who claim eight No1’s over this period).
Mumford & Sons climb one place to No2 with ‘Sigh No More’, ahead of Oasis ‘Time Flies…1994-2009’, up one to No3. With all the Glee titles in decline this week, Miley Cyrus has the next new entry at No5 with ‘Can’t Be Tamed’, her fourth appearance in this chart and her best yet, outperforming ‘Best Of Both Worlds Concert’ (No10 in 2008), ‘Breakout’ (No11 in 2008) and ‘The Time Of Our Lives’ (No9 earlier this year).
It’s all change at the top of the Singles Chart, with Katy Perry landing at No1 with ‘California Gurls’ (feat. Snoop Dogg), her sixth appearance in the Irish Top 10 and her second No1 following her debut release ‘I Kissed A Girl’ which spent four weeks at the top two years ago. K’Naan holds steady at No2 with ‘Wavin’ Flag’ as Edward Maya & Vika Jigulina slip to No3 after four weeks at No1 with ‘Stereo Love’. It’s a good week for Eminem, with ‘Love The Way You Lie’ (feat. Rihanna) new at No4 and ‘Not Afraid’ at No6. Kelly Rowland and David Guetta follow-up last year’s No1 collaboration ‘When Love Takes Over’ with ‘Commander’ and have this week’s highest climber, up nine places to No15 from last week’s No24 debut.
