Sony's Eye Toy plays hard to catch

01/Sep/2003

Sony’s ‘Eye Toy: Play’ (PS2) remains at No1 in the All Formats Chart, followed by EA’s budgetised titles ‘FIFA 2003’ (PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, PSX, PC and Gameboy Advance) at No2 and ‘Medal of Honor: Frontline’ (PS2, Xbox, Gamecube) at No3.

Nintendo’s Pokemon titles drop down the All Formats Chart with ‘Pokemon Sapphire’ down to No7, for the first time outselling its sister title (‘Pokemon Ruby’ which is at No 9) as well as claiming the No1 spot in the Gameboy Advance Chart. The highest new entry in the All Formats Top 40 is SCI’s ‘The Great Escape’ (PS2, Xbox), in at No8. The only other new entry in the All Formats Top 40 is Eidos’ ‘Republic: The Revolution’ (PC) which enters at No36. The highest re-entry in the All Formats Chart is Lucasarts’ ‘Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb’ (PS2, Xbox, PC) due to the release of the PS2 version this week. The highest climber is Atari’s PSX ‘Beyblade: Let it Rip!’ which jumps 24 places from No28 to No4.
